Atomic Compton scattering effect on direct dark matter detection

چکیده
Abstract Atomic Compton scattering effect significantly contributes to low-energy electronic recoils below its k-shell energy for the direct dark matter detection. Searches on ADM models, photon leptophilic models as well conventional WIMPs background understandings are vitally required clarify effect. We employed relativistic impulse approximation (RIA) together with ab initio Multi-Configuration Dirac-Fock (MCDF) theory obtain atomic Germanium (Ge) Silicon (Si) and Xenon (Xe) atoms. Comparisons low momentum transfer regions our calculations Ge Si achieved. In addition, millicharged particles estimated by RIA in ionization Xe have been evaluated. A factor-of-two discrepancy incoherent-scattering factor (a.k.a. function) near 100 eV/c system between calculation latest version of Geant4 (10.07.02) simulation data is observed. Plans experimental verification perspectives detections will be discussed.

Elastic Scattering and Direct Detection of Kaluza–Klein Dark Matter
Recently a new dark matter candidate has been proposed as a consequence of universal compact extra dimensions. It was found that to account for cosmological observations, the masses of the first Kaluza-Klein modes (and thus the approximate size of the extra dimension) should be in the range 600-1200 GeV when the lightest Kaluza-Klein particle (LKP) corresponds to the hypercharge boson and in th...

متن کاملexperimental constraint on dark matter detection with optical atomic clocks
The total mass density of the Universe appears to be dominated by dark matter. However, beyond its gravitational interactions at the galactic scale, little is known about its nature1. Several proposals have been advanced in recent years for the detection of dark matter2–4. In particular, a network of atomic clocks could be used to search for transient indicators of hypothetical dark matter5 in ...
متن کاملDirect detection of galactic halo dark matter.
The Milky Way galaxy contains a large, spherical component which is believed to harbor a substantial amount of unseen matter. Recent observations indirectly suggest that as much as half of this "dark matter" may be in the form of old, very cool white dwarfs, the remnants of an ancient population of stars as old as the galaxy itself. We conducted a survey to find faint, cool white dwarfs with la...
