Atmospheric particulate matter deposition on birch catkins and pollen grains before pollination

چکیده
Birch is the most allergenic tree species in Northern and Central Europe. Airborne birch pollen concentrations are observed to be on rise for several decades. Health hazard due grains (BPGs) can worsen particulate air pollution. The prevalence of intimate mixture BPGs with atmospheric matter (APM) at single grain level still unraveled. In this study, APM transfer mechanisms catkins prior pollination were investigated an urban-industrial a peri-urban site France. surface was heavily polluted micrometer-sized particles. متن کاملCarbon in Atmospheric Particulate Matter
Carbon compounds account for a large fraction of airborne particulate matter (‘carbonaceous aerosols’). Their presence raises a number of scientific questions dealing with climate issues and possible effects on human health. This review describes the current state of knowledge with respect to the ambient concentrations levels (elemental carbon, organic carbon and organic matter) and the various...

particulate matters commonly found dispersed in the atmosphere are composed of a large variety of substances. dustfall is the usual index of particles in the size range greater than 10 m. two semi automated so2 sampling units were installed in tehran university campus (from 21 january 1973 to 22 dec. 1974) and gheitarieh area (from 23 august to 23 oct. 1974) hydrogen peroxide method was used fo...
متن کاملA Review of the Effects of Major Atmospheric Pollutants on Pollen Grains, Pollen Content, and Allergenicity
This review summarizes the available data related to the effects of air pollution on pollen grains from different plant species. Several studies carried out either on in situ harvested pollen or on pollen exposed in different places more or less polluted are presented and discussed. The different experimental procedures used to monitor the impact of pollution on pollen grains and on various pro...
متن کاملSimilarity in seasonal appearance between atmospheric birch-pollen grains and allergen in paucimicronic, size-fractionated ambient aerosol.
BACKGROUND Specific allergen from various pollen types has been found to be carried through the outdoor air, not only by intact pollen grains, but also by much smaller, paucimicronic particles. There is no complete agreement on whether, for birch (Betula), the seasonal appearance of atmospheric pollen allergen follows the fluctuation pattern of the pollen season. METHODS Assessment of birch-p...
