Boundary Value Problems with Singular Boundary Conditions
Singular boundary conditions are formulated for non-selfadjoint Sturm-Liouville operators with singularities and turning points. For boundary value problems with singular boundary conditions properties of the spectrum are studied and the completeness of the system of root functions is proved.
متن کاملSolutions of Nonlinear Singular Boundary Value Problems
We study the existence of solutions to a class of problems u + f(t, u) = 0, u(0) = u(1) = 0, where f(t, ·) is allowed to be singular at t = 0, t = 1.
متن کاملSingular Discrete Higher Order Boundary Value Problems
We study singular discrete nth order boundary value problems with mixed boundary conditions. We prove the existence of a positive solution by means of the lower and upper solutions method and the Brouwer fixed point theorem in conjunction with perturbation methods to approximate regular problems. متن کاملSingular boundary value problems for ODEs
This paper is concerned with the numerical solution of a system of ordinary di erential equations ODEs y Sy t f t y p on an inter val b subject to boundary conditions g y y b p The ODEs have a coe cient that is singular at t but it is assumed that the boundary value problem BVP has a smooth solution Some popular methods for BVPs evaluate the ODEs at t This paper deals with the practical issues ...
متن کاملAsymptotically correct error estimation for collocation methods applied to singular boundary value problems
We discuss an a posteriori error estimate for collocation methods applied to boundary value problems in ordinary differential equations with a singularity of the first kind. As an extension of previous results we show the asymptotical correctness of our error estimate for the most general class of singular problems where the coefficient matrix is allowed to have eigenvalues with positive real p...
