چکیده
Abstract Background Association of cardiac amyloidosis (CA) with aortic stenosis (AS) is well known. There limited data on the association CA other valvular heart diseases like regurgitation (AR), mitral (MS), (MR), tricuspid (TS), (TR), pulmonary (PS) and (PR). Purpose To assess associations between amyloidosis. Methods This a retrospective observational study from hospitalizations January 1, 2016, December 31, 2019, using National Inpatient Sample (NIS), largest all-payer public database hospital care in United States. We looked into (VHD) CA. Results From 2016 to total 4999 patients history CA, 16,711 MS, 361,864 MR, 380,072 AS, 89,452 AR, 194 TS, 104,151 TR, 853 PS, 13,277 PR were identified. Compared those without any had significantly higher MR (6.4% vs 1.3%, p<0.001), AS (3.6% AR (1% 0.3%, TS (0.02% 0, p<0.033), TR (2.7% 0.4%, (0.4% 0.1%, p<0.001). Mean age MS (73.7 years), (75.2 (81.4 (77.1 (82 (77.3 (78.1 years). males, females incidence (0.1% 0.03%, p<0.001) lower (1.2% 1.6%, (0.3% Conclusion was TR. Comparatively, younger than VHD. Unique type of isolated cardiac valvular amyloidosis
BACKGROUND Amyloid deposition in heart is a common occurrence in systemic amyloidosis. But localised valvular amyloid deposits are very uncommon. It was only in 1922 that the cases of valvular amyloidosis were reported. Then in 1980, Goffin et al reported another type of valvular amyloidosis, which he called the dystrophic valvular amyloidosis. We report a case of aortic valve amyloidosis which...

Patients who have valvular heart disease coming for surgery present many challenges to the anesthesiologist. Over the past 3 decades there has been a persistent improvement in our understanding of the pathophysiology of valvular heart disease and in the surgical techniques for correcting it. With the development of efficient and safe noninvasive monitoring of cardiac function, new surgical tech...
متن کاملMicroRNAs in Valvular Heart Diseases: Potential Role as Markers and Actors of Valvular and Cardiac Remodeling
miRNAs are a class of over 5000 noncoding RNAs that regulate more than half of the protein-encoding genes by provoking their degradation or preventing their translation. miRNAs are key regulators of complex biological processes underlying several cardiovascular disorders, including left ventricular hypertrophy, ischemic heart disease, heart failure, hypertension and arrhythmias. Moreover, circu...
متن کاملNon-cardiac Surgery in Valvular Heart Disease
BackgroundValvular heart disease is one of the common complications of acute rheumatic fever, which manifests its clinical complications one or two decades after the primary attack of the disease in adults. The disease may involve one or more valves as stenosis or regurgitation or both and may cause congestive heart failure due to chronic volume or pressure overload. MethodThis prospective stud...
متن کاملManagement of Cardiac Involvement Associated With Neuromuscular Diseases: A Scientific Statement From the American Heart Association.
For many neuromuscular diseases (NMDs), cardiac disease represents a major cause of morbidity and mortality. The management of cardiac disease in NMDs is made challenging by the broad clinical heterogeneity that exists among many NMDs and by limited knowledge about disease-specific cardiovascular pathogenesis and course-modifying interventions. The overlay of compromise in peripheral muscle fun...
