ASSOCIATION BETWEEN URINARY TRACT INFECTION AND PRETERM LABOUR A PROSPECTED STUDY IN BASRAH MATERNITY AND CHILD HOSPITAL

Preterm birth is complex condition with multiple risk factors and substantial medical, psychological , economic social impacts. also the most important determinant of short long term morbidity in infant children. The aim this study to determine association between preterm labour urinary tract infection, parity, socioeconomic state, locality degree education. A prospective descriptive had been carried out Al-Basrah Maternity Child Hospital from 1st February 2020 October which include (100) pregnant women admitted room spontaneous labour, they evaluated clinically by investigations . percentage infected 62% among total labor, 38% no Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). UTI diagnosed presence 10 or more pus cells / bateruria (10) 5 Sixty three percent was primgravida 37% them multigravida (not than gravida 3). Forty-two city center 58% peripheral areas. Forty-One have high education level define having secondary school 59% low level.
