چکیده

The SCD gene is a significant component of the leptin signaling pathway. has also been suggested as candidate essential that can change ratio saturated to unsaturated fatty acids in milk and increase amount conjugated linoleic acid, which thought have anti-cancer properties. current research was carried out on Holstein cows determine association between (Stearoyl-Coenzyme A Desaturase) polymorphism total yield at 305 days (TMY305) daily (DMY). identified using PCR-RFLP technique SatI restriction enzyme for genotyping SNP c.878T>C exon 5. TT, TC, CC genotype frequencies were 0.21, 0.50, 0.29 respectively. While allele T C 0.46 0.54, According Chi-square test results, SCD/c.878T>C distribution Hardy-Weinberg disequilibrium (P<0.05). Statistical analysis indicated TMY305 TC genotypes showed higher mean compared TT genotypes.

An Evolutionary Relationship Between Stearoyl-CoA Desaturase (SCD) Protein Sequences Involved in Fatty Acid Metabolism

Background: Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD) is a key enzyme that converts saturated fatty acids (SFAs) to monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) in fat biosynthesis. Despite being crucial for interpreting SCDs’ roles across species, the evolutionary relationship of SCD proteins across species has yet to be elucidated. This study aims to present this evolutionary relationship based on amino aci...

Identification of Stearoyl-CoA Desaturase (SCD) Gene Interactions in Korean Native Cattle Based on the Multifactor-dimensionality Reduction Method

Fat quality is determined by the composition of fatty acids. Genetic relationships between this composition and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the stearoyl-CoA desaturase1 (SCD1) gene were examined using 513 Korean native cattle. Single and epistatic effects of 7 SNP genetic variations were investigated, and the multifactor dimensionality reduction (MDR) method was used to investigat...
