Association between Prosthesis Cleanliness and Patient’s Knowledge on Hygiene Habits among Complete Denture Patients and Partial Denture Prostheses Wearers

Introduction: To have good oral health of patients wearing denture they must maintain high standards both hygiene and hygiene. The aim this study was to access the level knowledge on prosthesis cleanliness among elderly individuals removable dental prostheses. Methods: sample consists 382 visiting Dental Outpatient Department Dhulikhel Hospital for a period 3 months. examination conducted using basic diagnostic tools (Mouth mirror, periodontal probe explorer). A prepared questionnaire developed regarding habits also classified according 3-point scoring system all subjects. Results: total 115 (67.3%) 63(66.3%) above age 50 had kept their extremely dirty in CD RPD wearers. Patients with low education [109(73.6%) wearers] [36(63.2 %) wearers]. 45(72.6 at night 102(75.6 respectively. Factors like age, education, duration prosthesis, worn during time were associated cleanliness. Similarly, instructions cleaning method frequency significant association Conclusion: Prosthesis affected by level. Most uninformed about practices. More information should be provided raising awareness motivating them order provide cleaner prosthesis.
