Association between Pre- Eclampsia and Hypovitaminosis D in Females Presenting During Third Trimester of Pregnancy

Objective: To determine the association between preeclampsia and hypovitaminosis D in females presenting during third trimester of pregnancy. Design: case control study Setting: This research was conducted at department Obs & Gynae, Lady Willingdon Hospital ( LWH ) , Lahore. Duration study: 6 months Sampling Technique: Non probability consecutive sampling Material methods: Total 330 pregnant their trimester, were recruited for research. The patients divided into 2 groups comprising 165 each group. After obtaining informed consent from all patients, blood samples drawn taken to lab measuring Vitamin level. If vit.D level was<37.5nmol/L, then labeled . SPSS Version 21.0 used entering analysis data obtained. Results: Mean age calculated 26 ± 5.13 years, while value GA 33.32±2.91 weeks. mean vitamin group 49.35±17.42nmol/l. Difference noted b/w both found be statistically significant with i.e. p-value=0.003.
