چکیده
AimSalpingectomy is associated with a lower risk for ovarian cancer, suggesting that the fallopian tubes constitute origin of disease. It unclear whether observed effect mediated by pelvic inflammatory disease (PID); major indication salpingectomy and implicated in aetiology cancer.MethodsIn this population-based cohort study, we used nationwide registry-based data on women exposed PID without subsequent (n = 97,912) compared unexposed population 5,429,174) between 1973 2010. The hormone treatment was considered subanalysis.ResultsOf women, 9538 underwent during study period. There significant association cancer (hazard ratio [HR] 1.44, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.31–1.59), whereas an inverse (HR 0.55, CI 0.36–0.83). Salpingectomy performed other indications 24,895) incidence 0.72, 0.56–0.93). No modification use oral contraceptives or hormonal replacement therapy.ConclusionSalpingectomy regardless indication.

Infertility is a common complication of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and may result in decreased parity. Low parity and possibly infertility are risk factors for ovarian cancer. We therefore examined the association between ovarian cancer and history of PID in a case-control study conducted during 1989-1992 in metropolitan Toronto and nearby areas of Southern Ontario, Canada. In total, 450...

has been increasing evidence over the past decade that the majority of ovarian cancers arise in the fallopian tube and not primarily in the ovary [1-3]. In 2010 the British Columbia Ovarian Cancer Research Group (OVCARE) launched an educational campaign about the potential benefit of " opportunistic salpingectomy " done concurrently with hysterectomy for benign gynecologic conditions, or instea...

The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between DM and the incidence of ovarian cancer on the basis of cohort studies.Relevant studies from PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library until September 2016 were collected. OBJECTIVE The fallopian tube is considered as the site of origin of serous ovarian cancer, and risk-reducing salpingectomy (RRS) has been proposed as a new and safe strategy for preventing ovarian cancer. However, little is known about the public perception of RRS. METHODS We performed a questionnaire survey of 100 healthy female volunteers in November 2014. Questionnaire for this survey incl...
