Association between atherogenic index of plasma and in-hospital mortality in patients with STEMI undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention

چکیده
Aim: Dyslipidemia is an established risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Increased triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels, and decreased high (HDL-C) levels were associated with increased risk. Recently, comprehensive lipid profile indices derived from these conventional parameters have attracted to attention. Atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) one the calculated as logarithm TG/HDL-C it accepted alternative simple marker atherogenicity. Although various studies demonstrated that their relationship clinical outcomes in patients acute coronary syndrome, this situation not yet clear ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primer percutaneous intervention (pPCI). In study, we aimed investigate AIP early mortality STEMI pPCI.Material Method: This a retrospective, single center, hospital-based study carried out between January 2019 April 2021. A total 873 consecutive (705 men; median age 59 years), whose pPCI, enrolled. The divided into two groups according in-hospital status namely survivors vs non-survivors. Conventional values measured non-traditional indexes including non-HDL-C [Total minus HDL-C], Total cholesterol/HDL-C, LDL-C/HDL-C, atherogenic (AI) [non-HDL-C/HDL-C], combine (LCI) cholesterol*TG*LDL-C/HDL-C] [Log(TG/HDL-C)] calculated. Angiographic images evaluated through hospital automation system. Results: was significantly higher non-survivors compared survivor group (0.59, 0.47, p=0.006, respectively). AI, non-HDL-C, cholesterol/HDL-C ratio, LDL-C/HDL-C ratio LCI measurements similar groups. cut-off value (0.50) 70% sensitivity 52% specificity predicts mortality. Multivariate logistic regression model indicated (OR: 3.77, 95% CI: 1.34–10.6, p < 0.012) independent predictor pPCI. Conclusion: AIP, which can be easily by complete blood beneficial evaluating prognosis patients.

Association of ABCB1 Gene Polymorphisms and Clopidogrel Responsiveness in Iranian Patients undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent currently used for preventing stent thrombosis. Despite certain clinical benefits of clopidogrel in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), adequate antiplatelet effect has not been obtained in some patients. The present study was designed to investigate the potential association of ABCB1 (ATP-Binding Cassette, Subfamily B, member1) gen...

متن کاملSystem delay and mortality among patients with STEMI treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
CONTEXT Timely reperfusion therapy is recommended for patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), and door-to-balloon delay has been proposed as a performance measure in triaging patients for primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, focusing on the time from first contact with the health care system to the initiation of reperfusion therapy (system delay) ...
متن کاملAssociation between acute kidney injury and in-hospital mortality in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary interventions.
BACKGROUND Acute kidney injury (AKI) post percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is associated with increased mortality but both death and AKI share common risk factors. Moreover, the effect of a high contrast dose, a known modifiable risk factor for AKI, on mortality is unknown. The aim of our study was to analyze the association between AKI and in-hospital mortality post PCI after adjustmen...
متن کاملEvaluation of ejection fraction in patients with acute myocardial infarction undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
Introduction: Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a reperfusion strategy to increase life expectancy and ejection fraction (EF) in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. We investigated the effect of location, severity, type of lesion, number and type of vessel involved and time of angioplasty on the increase in EF in STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI (P-PCI) a...
