Association and Path Coefficient Analysis among F2 Segregating Population of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L)

چکیده

Tomato is one of the most important vegetable crop grown by small farmers and commercial growers for both local uses as well processing industries. So, it to increase its productivity along with desirable attributes through genetic characters. Therefore, present experiment was conducted at College Agriculture, Vellayani, evaluate F2 segregating population a tomato cross involving Anagha x IIHR 2896 correlation path analysis. Correlation analysis revealed that plant height, number primary branches, spread, days first flowering, fruit harvest, fruits per plant, weight, volume, locules were highly significant positively correlated yield plant. Path weight volume had high positive direct effect on followed height spread. However, harvest negative Hence, characters showing should be given more emphasis in selection programme development superior varieties.

Phenotypic and molecular characterization of a tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) F2 population segregation for improving shelf life.

Breeding for better quality fruits is a major focus for tomatoes, which are continuously subjected to post-harvest losses. Several methods have been used to improve the fruit shelf life of tomatoes, including the use of ripening gene mutants of Solanum lycopersicum. We developed extended shelf-life tomato hybrids with better quality fruits using ripening mutants. Nine tomato crosses were develo...

Proteomic analysis of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, formerly hycopersicon esculentum) pollen

In flowering plants, pollen grains are produced in the anther and released to the external environment with the primary function of delivering sperm cells to the female gametophyte. This study was conducted to identify proteins in tomato pollen and to analyse their roles in relation to pollen function. Tomato is an important crop which is grown worldwide and is an excellent experimental system....

Genome-wide Identification, Phylogenetic and Expression Analysis of ABC1K Gene Family in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

Activity of bc1 complex (ABC1K) is a protein kinase commonly found in eukaryotes and prokaryotes. It plays an important role in various developmental and physiological processes, especially critical for plant response to diverse biotic and abiotic stresses. In this study, a genome analysis was carried out and 18 genes of ABC1K family were identified in tomato. Phylogenetic results showed that t...

Genome-Wide Association Mapping in Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) Is Possible Using Genome Admixture of Solanum lycopersicum var. cerasiforme

Genome-wide association mapping is an efficient way to identify quantitative trait loci controlling the variation of phenotypes, but the approach suffers severe limitations when one is studying inbred crops like cultivated tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). Such crops exhibit low rates of molecular polymorphism and high linkage disequilibrium, which reduces mapping resolution. The cherry type tomat...

Identification and characterization of histone deacetylases in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum)

Histone acetylation and deacetylation at the N-terminus of histone tails play crucial roles in the regulation of eukaryotic gene activity. Histone acetylation and deacetylation are catalyzed by histone acetyltransferases and histone deacetylases (HDACs), respectively. A growing number of studies have demonstrated the importance of histone deacetylation/acetylation on genome stability, transcrip...
