چکیده

In this study, a quantitative assessment of spatial extent arid and semi-arid climatic zones India was performed for the period from 1988 to 2018 using potential evapo-transpiration (PET) calculated by Modified Penman Method, estimated global climate data sets. Climatic water balances computed 625 stations across country are used classifying bio-climate types based on moisture index areas falling under in delineated ArcGIS 10.5. It noticed considerable changes country’s between two periods; 1992 2018. Overall, there has been net percent change hyper arid, typic semi (dry) is 5.62, 1.62 7.17 percent, respectively. Dryness wetness increasing different parts country. There also rainfall, PET over time which vital determine aridity pattern any region. Thus, results great significance studying temporal dry balance India, can help immensely management resources sustainability crop production changing conditions.

Site Selection of Establishment of Small Earth Dams in semi Arid and semi Arid Zones by Spatial Multi-Criteria Evaluation (SMCE) (Case Study: Yoosef-abad Watershed)

Earth dams have been used widely recently in flood and sedimentation control projects and feeding ground waters in country's watersheds and correct locating for such structures is necessary for increasing their efficiency. In this work, it is attempted to determine the correct locations for constricting earth dams in Yoosef-abad watershed in Tabas using v and incorporating information layers. T...

00554 - 9 - Arid and Semi - Arid Geomorphology

The world’s arid lands are some of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth, and their paucity of vegetation often makes it possible to see landforms and structures with great clarity (Figure 1.1). In addition, they have many characteristics both in terms of landforms and geomorphological processes that render them different from other major environments (see, for example, Laity, 2008; Parsons an...

Assessment of the important Factors on Gully Erosion in Arid and Semi-arid Region in Ilam Province

Infiltration is the process of water penetration from the ground surface into the soil and is an important process in the hydrological cycle by which surface runoff and groundwater recharge can be linked. Over the years, the importance of the infiltration process resulted in the development of several simplified analytical models for predicting infiltration. These infiltration models range from...

Floodplain mapping using HEC-RAS and GIS in semi-arid regions of Iran

Abstract A significant deficiency of most computer models used for stream floodplain analysis is that the locations of structures impacted by floodwaters, such as bridges, roads, and buildings, cannot be effectively compared to the floodplain location. This research presents a straightforward approach for processing output of the HEC-RAS hydraulic model, to enable two- and three dimensional f...
