چکیده

The tree diversity and carbon stock of all woody plants were investigated in two-hectare square plots (100 m x 100 m) established Suryanpet (SP) Velleripet (VP) which is tropical dry evergreen forest (TDEF) sites on the Coromandel Coast peninsular India. All trees ? 10 cm girth at breast height measured 1.3 from rooting point enumerated. A total 35 species (? gbh) belonging to 34 genera 23 families recorded forests. Tree richness 27 (dominant Dimorphocalyx glabellus Thw.) 18 Strychnos nux-vomica L.) SP VP respectively. density 671 1154 individuals basal area two study (40.70 m2 ha-1) (45.46 ha-1). Most abundant are Loganiaceae, Euphorbiaceae Rutaceae its family index value (FIV) 56.14, 39.12 21.40 aboveground biomass (AGB) totaled site (405.3 Mg (721.3 extent estimated TDEF sites, provides baseline data floristic structure this for better management conservation.

Above ground biomass and tree species richness estimation with airborne lidar in tropical Ghana forests

Estimates of forest aboveground biomass are fundamental for carbon monitoring and accounting; delivering information at very high spatial resolution is especially valuable for local management, conservation and selective logging purposes. In tropical areas, hosting large biomass and biodiversity resources which are often threatened by unsustainable anthropogenic pressures, frequent forest resou...

Above-ground biomass and structure of 260 African tropical forests

We report above-ground biomass (AGB), basal area, stem density and wood mass density estimates from 260 sample plots (mean size: 1.2 ha) in intact closed-canopy tropical forests across 12 African countries. Mean AGB is 395.7 Mg dry mass ha⁻¹ (95% CI: 14.3), substantially higher than Amazonian values, with the Congo Basin and contiguous forest region attaining AGB values (429 Mg ha⁻¹) similar to...

Assessment of Above-Ground Biomass of Borneo Forests through a New Data-Fusion Approach Combining Two Pan-Tropical Biomass Maps

This study investigates how two existing pan-tropical above-ground biomass (AGB) maps (Saatchi 2011, Baccini 2012) can be combined to derive forest ecosystem specific carbon estimates. Several data-fusion models which combine these AGB maps according to their local correlations with independent datasets such as the spectral bands of SPOT VEGETATION imagery are analyzed. Indeed these spectral ba...

Improving Species Diversity and Biomass Estimates of Tropical Dry Forests Using Airborne LiDAR

The spatial distribution of plant diversity and biomass informs management decisions to maintain biodiversity and carbon stocks in tropical forests. Optical remotely sensed data is often used for supporting such activities; however, it is difficult to estimate these variables in areas of high biomass. New technologies, such as airborne LiDAR, have been used to overcome such limitations. LiDAR h...
