چکیده
This study aimed to investigate plumage conditions, injuries in the comb, cloaca, and feet at end of laying period (73 weeks age) native Atak‐S (A‐S) foreign Isa Brown (IB) Novogen White (NW) genotypes reared two different cage densities. A total 480 hens, including 160 each hybrid, were used present study. Each hybrid group was divided into subgroups containing eight (468.75 cm2/hen) 12 animals (312.50 with replications. The feathering status six regions body (neck, breast, back, wing, tail, cloaca) assessed byscoring these both separately as a whole. To detect body, foot examined. In study, effect genotype on feather score found be significant all except for tail region (P<0.05). hybrids, highest loss region, while lowest cloaca IB neck wing NW A‐S. best results obtained from terms condition. Genotype had health scores comb score, density determined (P<0.01). It observed that increased increased.

Feather Pecking of Laying Hens in Different Stocking Density and Type of Cage
Both stocking rate and housing systems are main factors influencing the occurrence of feather pecking in laying hens raised in conventional cage system. This study examines the effects of different type of cage and stock density on feather pecking behaviour in hens. Total of 216 Hisex Brown hens at 16 weeks of age were randomly selected and put into 2 types of battery cages: conventional cages ...

Heritability of feather pecking and open-field response of laying hens at two different ages.
The objective of the current study was to estimate heritabilities (h2) of feather pecking and open-field response of laying hens at two different ages. An F2 cross, originating from a high and a low feather pecking line of laying hens, was used for the experiment. Each of the 630 birds of the F2 cross was subjected to an open-field test (individual, 10 min) at 5 and 29 wk of age and to a social...
