Assessment of nutritional status using objective and subjective methods in Greek patients with cancer

Summary Purpose Malnutrition constitutes an important complication of cancer. Nutritional status is associated with the progression malignant neoplasms. This study aimed to assess nutritional patients cancer using objective and subjective assessment methods. Materials methods The following validated questionnaires were used 152 recruited in Attica, Greece: Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA), Risk Screening-2002 (NRS-2002), Simplified Appetite Questionnaire (SNAQ). Geriatric risk index (GNRI) was calculated, handgrip strength (HGS) test carried out, arm circumference (MUAC) triceps skinfold thickness (TSF) measured. Results Based on PG-SGA assessment, 54.9% individuals severely malnourished.
