Assessment of CI Engine Performance and Exhaust Air Quality Outfitted with Real-Time Emulsion Fuel Injection System

The main target of the current research work is effectively eliminating fossil fuel dependency and improving exhaust air quality conventional Compression Ignition (CI) engines. This paper demonstrates for first time that a nanofluid (water without surfactant) stored in separate tanks can be quantified, collected, immediately emulsified by high shear mixer before transfer into combustion chamber diesel engine. experiment was carried out under different load states (25%, 50%, 75% 100%) with constant speed 1500 rpm. Biofuel extracted from citronella leaves using an energy-intensive process. 5% water share used preparing biofuel emulsion nano-biofuel emulsion. A cobalt chromate nanoadditive to make nanofluid. An experimental investigation performed prepared test fuels, namely, ultra-low sulphur (ULSD), 100% Citronella (B100), surfactant-free Diesel (SDE), bioemulsion (SBE), Surfactant free nano-bioemulsion (SNBE), properties sample fuels ensured according EN ASTM standards. observation performance results show SNBE blend exhibited lower BTE (by 0.5%) higher SFC 3.4%) than ULSD at peak load. emission HC, CO, NOx, smoke emissions 23.86%, 31.81%, 2.94%, 24.63%, respectively, compared USD CP HRR were closer fuel. Overall, novel concept RTEFI (Real-time injection) system proved workable maintain its benefits better economy greener emissions.
