Assessment of calcium hydroxide-formocresol mix, zinc oxide and calcium hydroxide-iodoform pastes as a root filling in primary teeth (clinical and radiographic study)

ABSTRACT Objective of this study is to evaluate clinically and radiographically the calcium – hydroxide formocresol mix as a root filling material in primary teeth . Materials & Methods: The was performed on 75 molars patients aged from 4-8 years that indicated for pulpectomy. were divided randomly into 3 main equal groups. Each group formed 25 molars. Group A: children which zinc oxide eugenol (ZO/E) used B: material. C : In matapex assessed at 5 different intervals (preoperative, 24 hours, 6 weeks , months month postoperative), using standard clinical radiographic criteria. Results: It found Maetapex offers best radiographical results when compared with ZO/E fromocresol (group A) showed (84%) success rate, while Calcuim B) higher rate (88%) than Metapex c) show all groups (94%) failure (16%) (12% ) (6%) respectively.
