Assessment of Bird Species Composition, Relative Abundance, and Distributions in East Gojjam Wetland Habitats, Ethiopia

Many bird species depend on wetlands and the surrounding habitats. However, status of these wetlands, as well their biodiversity, is poorly understood maintained. From January to February 2021, we assessed compositions, relative abundances, distributions throughout five wetland habitats in East Gojjam zone. In each study site, systematic random sampling techniques were applied at a 4 km interval along Bray–Curtis cluster analysis was conducted using PAST software. As result, total 55 from 20 families 9 orders identified. 49 classified least concern, two critically endangered species, vulnerable one an endemic species. study, overgrazing agricultural expansion identified threats biodiversity. To conserve biological richness ecosystems, conservation strategy sustainable usage system are required.
