Assessing the characteristics of 110 low- and middle-income countries' noncommunicable disease national action plans

Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are a leading contributor to preventable mortality and impoverishment in low- middle-income countries (LMICs). To support developing holistic integrated NCD plans, the World Health Organization (WHO) has produced get rid of this Multisectoral Action Plan (MSAP) guidance. date, over 160 have MSAPs uploaded them WHO's document repository. We examined content comprehensiveness by all 110 LMICs, with reference WHO Overall, included 71% elements recommended WHO, however, there was tendency present situational analyses actions without providing costings or an overall funding plan. found no correlation between MSAP (alignment guidance) policy implementation. There were significant differences alignment region income group. Countries higher universal health coverage indices had lower score. concluded that existence comprehensive is not enough guarantee implementation, should focus its on helping translate plans policies into concrete address NCDs.
