Assessing Hospital Safety Index in the Iranian Hospitals

Background: Hospital preparedness for accidents and disasters is vital in maintaining promoting community health. However, the country’s hospitals are not well prepared disasters. The hospital safety index (HSI) was 42% Iranian 2014. This study aims to investigate HSI 2020 provide solutions improve it. Materials Methods: cross-sectional descriptive performed hospitals. results recorded Farsi version of (FHSI) software were used. teams used FHSI checklist (151 options) three areas structural, non-structural, functional assess register system. registered collected based on medical universities country. Descriptive statistics analyze data. Results: A total 604 information mean score 60.84. 130 (21.5%) had low levels, 418 (69%) moderate 56 (9.2%) high levels against scores structural (57.20), non-structural (65.24), (63.36). Hamedan (76.81) Kerman (75.61) Provinces highest score, Yazd (53.74), Lorestan (57.31) lowest Conclusion: compared 2014 has reached 6 out 10 we have about a 41.5% increase (from 43 60.84). moderate.
