چکیده

Abstract Providing shelters for animals during disasters such as floods, bushfires and storms requires adequate planning preparedness. Planning the disaster response recovery phases is critical to mitigating negative effects that animal loss or separation can have. The human-animal bond has potential influence people’s decisions emergencies, how they will respond when if evacuate. Evacuation with a event be difficult complicated. It critical, however, are rescued kept safe after disasters. Any compromise result in death of animals. Twenty-five evacuation sites, including saleyards, showgrounds, shelters, racecourses, were identified accessed nine local government areas (LGAs) across Hunter region New South Wales, Australia. On-site survey using 5-point Likert scale questionnaire was used collect data. Ridesharing for Emergency Evacuation

In this paper, we consider the evacuation problem that consists of grouping and routing evacuees to safe zones. Grouping evacuees reduces congestion on roads, addresses fuel shortage, and supports individuals with limited access to transportation means. We propose a mixed integer programming model where individuals with vehicles are instructed to pick up others along their route in order to eva...

Opportunistic Communications for Emergency Evacuation

Evacuation is an important component of emergency and disaster response. In case of emergencies, people in and near the affected area need to be quickly alerted of the emergency and evacuated along safe routes. Evacuation also needs to be fast, especially when there is a spreading hazard such as fire or flood. However, finding the best (i.e. safest and fastest) escape path is complicated due to...

A new simulation model for assessing aircraft emergency evacuation considering passenger physical characteristics

Conducting a real aircraft evacuation trial is oftentimes unaffordable as it is extremely expensive and may cause severe injury to participants. Simulation models as an alternative have been used to overcome the aforementioned issues in recent years. This paper proposes a new simulation model for emergency evacuation of civil aircraft. Its unique features and advantages over the existing models...

Simulation of Congestion Management for Emergency Evacuation

This demonstration presents novel approaches in the field of evacuee assistance during emergency building evacuations. While much research has been done in this field and produced distributed and decentralized or robust platforms, most solutions are based on the assumption that the shortest-path is the safest one. We demonstrate that this approach is far from optimal, especially if evacuees are...

Matching Ontologies for Emergency Evacuation Plans

In case of emergency, the coordination of different services deals with different working methods, different languages, different instruments, different sensors and different data representations. Thus, the coordination of services includes heterogeneity problems that can be managed with the help of ontology matching techniques. In this paper we present a scenario where the requirements for ont...
