Assesing Tissue Transmission of Hepatitis C Virus From Viremic Donor to Seronegative Kidney Transplant Recipients: A Case Series

چکیده
The transmission of hepatitis C virus from viremic donors to seronegative recipients kidney transplantation is well documented. Pre-transplant administration direct-acting antivirals prevents viremia, but the seroconversion rate high. We studied through transplanted tissue by determining viral RNA in 15 kidneys 8 deceased donors, 5 males and 3 females aged 52.3 ± years. HIV positive active intravenous drugs abusers were discarded avoid possible window periods transmission. Recipients, 9 6 52.7 18 years, treated with glecaprevir/pibrentasvir for weeks received immunosuppression thymoglobulin, tacrolimus, sirolimus prednisone. Hepatitis Virus was detected histological samples analyzed viremia no recipient at day 1 7 post–transplantation 12 after treatment. However, 13 had seroconverted within month. In conclusion, a significant proportion grafts treatment avoids donor recipient. Then Donor pools should be expanded.

Treatment of hepatitis C virus infection in kidney transplant recipients: case report.
Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection exists in a large proportion of patients undergoing renal transplantation. Nowadays it is not considered to be an absolute contraindication to transplantation; however, it is associated with an increased risk for the patient and accounts for a shorter half-life of the renal allograft. We present three transplant recipients who displayed serious hepatic ...

OBJECTIVES Hepatitis C virus infection occurs frequently among end-stage renal disease patients. Moreover, its effect on long-term patient and renal graft survival is controversial. This study was performed to assess the long-term effect of hepatitis C virus on the outcome of kidney allografts. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 273 hepatitis B negative renal transplant recipie...
متن کاملTransmission of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 from a seronegative organ and tissue donor.
BACKGROUND Since 1985, donors of organs or tissues for transplantation in the United States have been screened for human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), and more than 60,000 organs and 1 million tissues have been transplanted. We describe a case of transmission of HIV-1 by transplantation of organs and tissues procured between the time the donor became infected and the appearance of anti...
متن کاملTuberculosis in kidney transplant recipients: A case series
Solid organ transplant recipients have an elevated risk of tuberculosis (TB) with high mortality. Data about TB in this population in the United States is sparse. We present four cases of active tuberculosis in kidney transplant recipients at our center. All patients had possible TB exposure prior to transplant and all were diagnosed with active TB within the first year of transplant. Dissemina...
