چکیده

Arm swing improves vertical jump height but the underlying mechanism is not well understood. We assume that negative acceleration of arm can increase load and tension lower limb’s extensor muscles enhancing force output resulting in higher jump. The purpose this study was to examine how affects EMG activity limb during jumping relation kinematics. Sixteen physically active male college students were asked perform squat (SJ) countermovement jumps (CMJ) with arms akimbo swing. Jumps carried out on a platform while kinematic data right measured. Jumping increased by 33% SJ 18.9% CMJ when performed In ground reaction (GRF) larger (71–91% jump, p < 0.001) significantly slower relative joint extension. Similarly, CMJAS GRF (89–97% compared CMJ. time, net impulse take off velocity both jumps. No differences detected between without When swing, we observe indicate limb, cannot confirm our initial idea results comparison. Increase be explained extended time greater mechanical variables

Effect of Foot Orthoses on the Timing of Lower Limb Muscles Activity during Walking in Older Adults

Introduction: As a person gets older, their gait patterns change and their ability to walk decreases. Orthoses are used to relieve musculoskeletal disorders, skeletal problems, disabilities, etc. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of orthoses on timing of lower limb muscles in the older adults during gait. Methods: The present study was a clinical trial. 14 females ...

Comparison of electrical and co-contraction activity of selected lower limb muscles during manual load lifting with three different technique

Introduction and Aim: Manual handling of loads is a complex dynamic task that involves the upper and lower limbs. Manual handling of loads in sports and daily activities can expose people to unfavorable physical conditions and lead to injury. The study aimed to compare the electrical activity and co-contraction of selected lower limb muscles during manual load lifting with three different techn...

A method for positioning electrodes during surface EMG recordings in lower limb muscles.

PURPOSE The aim of this work is to provide information about the degree of inter-subject uniformity of location of innervation zone (IZ) in 13 superficial muscles of the lower limb. The availability of such information will allow researchers to standardize and optimize their electrode positioning procedure and to obtain accurate and repeatable estimates of surface electromyography (sEMG) signal...
