Are They Really a New Species? Exploring the Emergence of Social Entrepreneurs Through Giddens’s Structuration Theory

Using Giddens’s structuration theory and empirical data from a study with social enterprise stakeholders, the article explores how entrepreneurs structure co-create one another. We show that development of contemporary significance entrepreneurialism lies in combination complex context-specific structural forces activities agents who initiate, demand, impose change. Social intentionally tackle challenges, but their actions bring unintentional results, such as transfer state responsibilities onto communities.
