Are Persons Who Use Wheelchairs Able to Access Existing Mosques?

One of the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs') rights is participation in religious ceremonies, and mosques are where most Muslim activities conducted. The present descriptive qualitative research investigates accessibility Who Use Wheelchairs (PHUWs) to University Jordan's (UJ) mosque attached Islamic cultural center light national codes. study was carried out through observations, photographs, measurements using maps blueprints UJ mosque. found that its facilities had some accessible entrances, but many spaces lacked for PHUWs. For example, ramps did not comply standards, PHUWs couldn't use them independently. In addition, proposed converting an existing WC unit into one PHUWs, this achieved. Instead, a new expansion added fresh barrier PHUW. recommends ensuring mosques, monitoring raising awareness PWDs' rights. Adopting other countries' standards improve codes also recommended. findings can benefit from renovating centers Jordan countries.
