Approaching Sea-Level Rise (SLR) Change: Strengthening Local Responses to Sea-Level Rise and Coping with Climate Change in Northern Mozambique

چکیده

Mean sea-level is expected to rise significantly by 2100 in all scenarios, including those compatible with the objectives of Paris Climate Agreement. Global sea level projections indicate devastating implications for populations, ecosystem services and biodiversity. The (SLR) on low-lying islands coastal regions communities are substantial require deep-rooted coping measures. In absence adequate responses coping, Mozambique record huge losses, an impact economy development many sectors its mainly northern Mozambique. This research aimed perform SLR Mozambique, understand role north coast country. was estimated through analysis model outputs that support global estimates fifth IPCC report near Mozambican coast, each four representative concentration pathways (RCPs) scenarios. Memoranda Climate Change , Sea Level Rise and Dutch Defense Strategies

This paper provides a concise evaluation of Dutch defense strategies against the threats of the sea level rise as a consequence of global climate change. A set of (external) event scenarios for sea level rise is described ranging from a modest to a dramatic rise. Next, four different policy response scenarios are presented, while their related costs are confronted with the threats of the event ...

Climate Change: The Impacts of Sea Level Rise on Egypt

Introduction Sea level changes are caused by several natural phenomenon; the three primary contributing ones are: ocean thermal expansion, glacial melt from Greenland and Antarctica (plus a smaller contribution from other ice sheets), and change in terrestrial storage. Among those, ocean thermal expansion has been expected to be the dominating factor behind the rise in sea level. However, new d...

Contemporary sea level rise.

Measuring sea level change and understanding its causes has considerably improved in the recent years, essentially because new in situ and remote sensing observations have become available. Here we report on most recent results on contemporary sea level rise. We first present sea level observations from tide gauges over the twentieth century and from satellite altimetry since the early 1990s. W...

Assessment of Hammocks (Petenes) Resilience to Sea Level Rise Due to Climate Change in Mexico

There is a pressing need to assess resilience of coastal ecosystems against sea level rise. To develop appropriate response strategies against future climate disturbances, it is important to estimate the magnitude of disturbances that these ecosystems can absorb and to better understand their underlying processes. Hammocks (petenes) coastal ecosystems are highly vulnerable to sea level rise lin...
