Approaches for Preventing Tool Wear in Sheet Metal Forming Processes

نویسندگان

چکیده

Sheet metal forming processes, the purpose of which is to give shaped material appropriate mechanical, dimensional and shape properties, are characterised by different values unit pressures lubrication conditions. Increasing efficiency tool work increasing their durability, reliability still one main indicators production efficiency. Tool wear in technologies significantly differs from character other methods metalworking, such as machining. This article presents characteristics mechanisms used sheet forming. Possibilities durability tools applying coatings produced laser techniques, chemical vapour deposition also discussed. Great emphasis placed on self-lubricating functional materials coatings. Current trends lubricants forming, including texturing, presented.

Prediction of Instability in Planar Anisotropic Sheet Metal Forming Processes

In this paper instability of planar anisotropic sheet metal during a few forming processes is investigated for the first time. For this reason components of the constitutive tangent tensor for planar anisotropic sheets are developed. By using the above tensor location of necking is predicted. Direction of the shear band is also predicted using the acoustic tensor. A finite element program is pr...

Knowledge Based Cloud FE Simulation of Sheet Metal Forming Processes

The use of Finite Element (FE) simulation software to adequately predict the outcome of sheet metal forming processes is crucial to enhancing the efficiency and lowering the development time of such processes, whilst reducing costs involved in trial-and-error prototyping. Recent focus on the substitution of steel components with aluminum alloy alternatives in the automotive and aerospace sector...

Multiscale Friction Modeling for Sheet Metal Forming

The most often used friction model for sheet metal forming simulations is the relative simple Coulomb friction model. This paper presents a more advanced friction model for large scale forming simulations based on the surface change on the micro-scale. The surface texture of a material changes when two surfaces are in contact under a normal load. This is caused by flattening due to combined nor...
