Approach to comprehensive analysis of bastion castle ensemble with historic gardens: novel combined strategy

Bastion castle ensemble is a complex structure that belongs to defensive residences, which usually include the historic gardens and play an important role in formation of townscape. The two main structural components such built complexes are palatial body bastion fortifications. However, some bigger ensembles can also other functional buildings. Due nature structure, namely presence elements, followed military development, many castles underwent huge transformations. They were rebuilt because outdated design or destruction by enemy. That why studying only from historical perspective analyzing their fortification part not enough understand whole complex, much more than single-type building. In contrast, this paper proposes interdisciplinary approach on example Zheshov (Poland). Specifically, uses combined strategy includes interpretative–historical qualitative-computational strategies as systematic comprehensive research. This consists seven points analysis: transformations, composition, situation, landscape, fortifications, typomorphology, space syntax. work represents methodological framework be used for analysis any world.
