چکیده
Black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae (BSFL) production is increasing, which will leaves substantial amounts of leftover excrement, called ‘frass’ that may be a beneficial organic fertilizer. In this study, sweetpotato (SP) (Ipomoea batatas) cuttings (‘slips’), were grown with BSFL frass as one-time top dressing at either 333.7g/m2 or 667.4g/m2, respectively, daily applications tea (225g in 3.78 L) an inorganic fertilizer (control). The nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium the and was 6.2-1.4-1.7 10-30-20, respectively. After three weeks, no significant difference length, number nodes stem diameter found 667 g/m2 treatment versus control, while these values significantly lowest treatment. Slip manganese copper lower higher, control compared to 333 treatments. Iron, copper, manganese, zinc magnesium slips from excluded economical analysis due minimal growth. Benefit-cost showed highest benefit-cost ratio for treatments 3.65 3.62, 3.48.

Intra-Puparial Development of the Black Soldier-fly, Hermetia illucens
The intra-puparial development of the black soldier-fly, Hermetia illucens (L.) (Diptera: Stratiomyidae), was studied based on 125 pupae under controlled conditions in laboratory. The 6(th) instar larvae were reared until they stopped feeding, and the prepupae were separated according to the reduction in larval length and degree of pigmentation and sclerotization of the cuticle. The pupal stage...
متن کاملModulation of nutrient composition of black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae by feeding seaweed-enriched media
Black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae are a promising source of protein and lipid for animal feeds. The nutritional composition of the BSF larvae depend partly on the composition of the feeding medium. The BSF lipid profile in part mimics the feeding media lipid profile, and micronutrients, like minerals and vitamins, can readily accumulate in black soldier fly larvae. However, investiga...

Feed security, feed quality and issues surrounding the safety of raw materials are always of interest to all livestock farmers, feed manufacturers and competent authorities. These concerns are even more important when alternative feed ingredients, new product developments and innovative feeding trends, like insect-meals, are considered. The black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) is considered a ...

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to evaluate effects of replacing fish meal (FM) with black soldier fly larvae meal (BSF) on growth performance, feed utilization, and plasma parameters, for juvenile yellow catfish, Pelteobagrus fulvidraco. Six isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets were prepared substituting the FM protein with BSF protein in the following amounts: 0 (control group), 10% (BSF...
