Application of the Gray Wolf Optimization Algorithm in Active Disturbance Rejection Control Parameter Tuning of an Electro-Hydraulic Servo Unit

A valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder system has the characteristics of uncertainty and time-variance, electro-hydraulic servo unit encounters shock, vibration, other external interference when working, which seriously affect stability system. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce an active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) into control. However, there are many ADRC parameters, difficult set these only with expert experience. we propose applying gray wolf optimization algorithm (GWO) ADRC, auto-tune parameters find optimal solution. In addition, advantages GWO in parameter tuning proven analyzed. The simulation experimental results showed that had a faster mean time for smallest fitness value (integrated absolute error), compared particle swarm genetic algorithm. Moreover, system, after by algorithm, could accurately adjust auto-disturbance controller, response speed, smaller overshoot, better anti-disturbance ability.
