Application of Machine Learning to Include Honking Effect in Vehicular Traffic Noise Prediction

A vehicular road traffic noise prediction methodology based on machine learning techniques has been presented. The parameters that have considered are volume, percentage of heavy vehicles, honking occurrences and the equivalent continuous sound pressure level. Leq method to include effect in illustrated. used for decision trees, random forests, generalized linear models artificial neural networks. results obtained by using these methods compared basis mean square error, correlation coefficient, coefficient determination accuracy. It observed is an important parameter contributes overall noise, especially congested Indian conditions. effects human health cannot be ignored it should included as a future models.
