APPLICATION OF FREE FLAPS IN RECONSTRUCTION DEFECTS AFTER HEAD AND NECK CANCER RESECTION AT HANOI CENTRAL ODONTO-STOMATOLOGY HOSPITAL

This retrospective cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of using free flaps for reconstructing defects following head and neck cancer resection at Hanoi Central Odonto-Stomatology Hospital (NHOS). A total 255 patients diagnosed with underwent en bloc immediate reconstruction NHOS between 2012 2022. The results demonstrated successful use tissue reconstruction, including 134 fibula flaps, 99 lateral arm 17 anterolateral thigh 5 cases a combination defect after resection. overall success rate was 98.03% (250/255 cases). findings highlight that flexible effectively restores essential functions esthetics maxillofacial region, thereby enhancing quality life undergoing treatment.
