چکیده
This paper deals with the application of advanced simulation techniques for combustion modeling in case an internal engine. The main focus is put on models a high predictive ability hence 3-D CFD was selected while using LES (turbulence model) and detailed chemistry (both SI CI ICE) or turbulent flame propagation (SI ICE). Both engine types are considered – spark ignited ICE compression Examples shown comparison available experimental data presented. conclusion that such capable quality predictions very little tuning needed. desired as could be applied early phases development. Transient combustion control of internal combustion engines
This thesis addresses the problem of combustion control for automotive engines. A method is proposed to complement existing controllers, which use lookup tables based on steady-state operation. During transients, the new control method adjusts fast control variables (ignition or injection time) to compensate for deviations in the cylinder initial conditions from their optimal values due to the ...

Ethanol Internal Combustion Engines HIGHLIGHTS PROCESS AND TECHNOLOGY STATUS – The use of biofuels (e.g. bio-ethanol and biodiesel) in the transport sector can save significant amounts of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Internal combustion engines (ICEs) can run on bio-ethanol manufactured from biomass or waste through biochemical processes. Agricultural feedstock such as sugar...
متن کاملLES of spray and combustion in an internal combustion engine
With the ever rising need for better fuel efficiency and lower emissions, the development of better engine technology is essential. Different strategies are being considered to increase engine efficiency, such as direct injection or downsizing. Certain regimes are clearly identified as optimal for certain range of loads. For gasoline engines, the Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) c...
متن کاملBoundary conditions and subgrid scale models for LES simulation of Internal Combustion Engines
The implementation and the combination of advanced boundary conditions and subgrid scale models for Large Eddy Simulations are presented. The goal is to perform reliable cold flow LES simulations in complex geometries, such as cylinder engines. In the paper, an inlet boundary condition for synthetic turbulence generation is combined with a fully non reflecting Navier Stokes Characteristic Bound...
