چکیده
We model regular and irregular design waves of interest in coastal ocean engineering, using a Numerical Wave Flume (NWF) based on Moving Particle Semi-Implicit (MPS) method. A key feature the is implementation new scheme for artificial viscosity, which original to Smoothed Hydrodynamics (SPH) method here formalised into MPS context. In addition, we complement NWF with wave generator dynamic boundary approach, absorption mechanism numerical damping zone. show that accurately calibrating terms has strong effect preventing particle clustering tensile instability, allows precise simulation phenomena engineering. The NWF-MPS validated available analytical experimental benchmarks, then applied reproduce violent impact vertical wall breakwater. Interestingly, novel requires much lower number particles obtain similar level accuracy as compared analogous SPH simulations run machines.

A Semi-Infinite Numerical Wave Flume Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics
This paper presents the new boundary condition implemented in the LNEC (Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil) SPH (Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics) numerical model based on the SPHysics model and on a standard SPH formulation: This piston-type wave-maker now includes dynamic wave absorption and allows the simulation of a semi-infinite flume. Verification of the active wave-maker absorption ...

Moving Particle Semi-implicit (MPS) which is a meshless and full Lagrangian method is employed to simulate nonlinear hydrodynamic behavior in a wide variety of engineering application including free surface water waves. In the present study, a numerical particle-based model is developed by the authors using MPS method to simulate different wave problems in the coastal waters. In this model flui...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Artificial Neural Network Modeling for the Management of Oil Slick Transport in the Marine Environments
Due to an increase in demand of petroleum products which are transported by vessels or exported by pipelines, oil spill management becomes a controversial issue in coastal environment safety as well as making serious financial problems. After spilling oil in the water body, oil spreads as a thin layer on the water surface. Currents, waves and wind are the main causes of oil slick transport. The...
