چکیده
The objective was to determine the values of apparent metabolizable energy (AME) and corrected for nitrogen balance (AMEn) roasted in natura amaranth grains. A breeding stock 108 female Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) with an initial age 29 days used. birds were distributed a completely randomized design three treatments six replications, per experimental unit. used reference diet, diet + 30% amaranth. variables evaluated feed intake, body weight variation, retained nitrogen, crude protein, dry matter digestibility protein. Higher AME AMEn verified grains, relation There no verification regarding influence both natura, protein digestibility. It concluded that grains provided 3888 kcal/ kg 3352 kcal/kg AMEn, while 4044 4028 AMEn.

METABOLIZABLE ENERGY AND CRUDE PROTEIN REQUIREMENTS OF TWO QUAIL SPECIES (Coturnix japonica and Coturnix ypsilophorus)
The present study aimed to investigate the effects of different levels of dietary metabolizable energy (ME) and crude protein (CP) on performance and carcass characteristics of Japanese (Coturnix japonica) and Brown (Coturnix ypsilophorus) quails during a 42 d feeding trial. A total of 720 (360 per each species) one week-old quail chicks were randomly (by species) distributed between 72 cages a...
متن کاملNitrogen-corrected apparent metabolizable energy value of crude glycerol for laying hens.
An experiment was conducted with laying hens to determine the AME(n) value of crude glycerol, a coproduct of biodiesel production. Crude glycerol (87% glycerol, 9% water, 0.03% methanol, 1.26% Na, and 3,625 kcal/kg of gross energy) was obtained from a commercial biodiesel production facility (Ag Processing Inc., Sergeant Bluff, IA). A total of forty-eight 40-wk-old laying hens (Hy-Line W-36) we...
متن کاملSpatial Orientation in Japanese Quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica)
Finding a given location can be based on a variety of strategies, for example on the estimation of spatial relations between landmarks, called spatial orientation. In galliform birds, spatial orientation has been demonstrated convincingly in very young domestic chicks. We wanted to know whether adult Japanese quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) without food deprivation are also able to use spat...
متن کاملApparent and true metabolizable energy values of feedstuffs for ducks.
Two experiments were conducted, each with 24 White Pekin ducks, to determine the AME and TME content of five feedstuffs for ducks. In each experiment, fasting losses were obtained from six ducks and six ducks were used for each feedstuff. Each experiment lasted 102 h with an initial 48-h period and a 54-h excreta collection period. During the first 48-h period, all birds were tube-fed dextrose ...
متن کاملUsing Processed Feeds For Laying Quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica)
The aim of this experiment was to determine the productive performance and egg quality of Japanese quails fed different types of processed rations (mash, extruded, or pelleted). One hundred and fortyfour 18-w-old quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) were housed in galvanized wire cages and fed a 21.50% CP and 2850 kcal ME/kg basal feed supplied in mash, extruded, or pelleted form. Experimental d...
