چکیده
The aim of this study was to assess the antioxidant response towards urban air pollution three widespread ornamental species—Tilia tomentosa, Fraxinus excelsior and Pinus nigra. Saplings were planted in four plots with different anthropogenic impacts, periodic observations performed on their development. Three types biochemical markers, representing plant responses by mechanisms, analyzed: photosynthetic pigments, free proline guaiacol peroxidase activity. Our confirmed that adaptation environment are complex biological processes including physiological changes. As a whole, these experiments revealed studied trees react specific mechanisms pollution, significantly correlated enhancement traffic (p < 0.05). assessed as being very suitable for landscaping due significant tolerance environmentally stressful conditions. Tilia tomentosa also evaluated species it demonstrated good development environment. nigra proven more sensitive versus other two trees. These findings could be useful scientific basis practice terms sustainable management forestry.

European ash (Fraxinus excelsior) is currently battling an onslaught of ash dieback, a disease emerging in the greater part of its native area, brought about by the introduction of the ascomycete Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (= Hymenoscyphus pseudoalbidus). The closely-related fungus Hymenoscyphus albidus, which is indigenous to Europe, is non-pathogenic when in contact with F. excelsior, but could ...
