A foundation monograph of Convolvulus L. (Convolvulaceae)
A global revision of Convolvulus L. is presented, Calystegia R.Br. being excluded on pragmatic grounds. One hundred and ninety species are recognised with the greatest diversity in the Irano-Turanian region. All recognised species are described and the majority are illustrated. Distribution details, keys to species identification and taxonomic notes are provided. Four new species, Convolvulusau...
متن کاملStereochemistry of Consabatine from Convolvulus sabatius Viv. (Convolvulaceae)
The stereochemistry of consabatine, which was isolated from the roots of Convolvulus sabatius Viv. as a novel natural compound, has now been determined by the synthesis of its Mosher esters. Consabatine was found to be 1'R-configurated.
متن کاملPhysicochemical and antioxidant properties of Algerian honey.
The aim of the present study was to characterize the physical, biochemical and antioxidant properties of Algerian honey samples (n = 4). Physical parameters, such as pH, moisture content, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), color intensity, total sugar and sucrose content were measured. Several biochemical and antioxidant tests were performed to determine the antioxidant...
متن کاملAntioxidant compounds from Ebenus pinnata.
Activity-guided fractionation of the methanol extract of Ebenus pinnata aerial parts led to the isolation of ombuoside (1), kaempferol 3-O-rutinoside (2), rutin (3), catechin (4), and picein (5), along with beta-sitosterol and beta-sitosterol glucoside. Compounds 1-4 showed significant antioxidant activity in the DPPH, and TEAC, reducing power assays.
متن کاملBetalains from Amaranthus tricolor L
Betalains in Amaranthus tricolor leaf were identified by means of reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Liquid chromatography-Mass spectrometry (LC-MS). In addition to the known compound red-violet amaranthin, two yellow pigments were detected in Amaranthus tricolor. A novel betaxanthin, methyl derivative of arginine betaxanthin was identified on the basis of UV-Vis s...
