Boswellia carterii, known as frankincense, is a fragrant medicinal plant. The essential oil from this plant often used in traditional medicine or aromatherapy. Due to its positive properties, it has potential applications an antimicrobial agent and the food industry. aim of study was evaluate antimicrobial, anti-insect, antioxidant activities frankincense (FEO). composition volatile compounds determined by GC/MS, main components were found be α-pinene (37.0%), α-limonene (19.8%), p-cymene (6.3%). activity evaluated with DPPH ABTS methods resulting inhibition 73.88 ± 0.35% radical (6.27 0.17 TEAC) 97.09 0.48% cation (5.21 0.07 TEAC). strongest against Candida species zones range 38.00–44.00 mm MIC 50 90 values 11.72 12.58 μL/mL, respectively. vapor phase highest G+ G− bacteria growing on carrot ranging 65.14 93.67%. anti-insect O. lavaterae 100% at concentration 50% 25% concentration. degradation biofilm tested MALDI-TOF MS, changes protein profile observed.
