چکیده
Medicinal plants have been conventionally used to sustain health and treat many diseases such as diabetes for years. Spinacia oleracea L., common name palak, belong the class Amaranths family Amaranthaceous. It is an anti-bacterial, antidiabetic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, hepatoprotective agent. In this study, methanol, ethanol, n-hexane aqueous extracts of leaf were evaluate antioxidant contents, activity, antidiabetic activity (inhibition glycation, alpha amylase, glucosidase, acetylchlinesterase). Additionally, identification bioactive compounds functional groups was done by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Among all extracts, total phenol flavonoid contents 32.09 ± 0.99 g GAE/100 78.38 1.15 22.77 0.16 CE/100 54.56 0.87 g. While DPPH reducing range 45.14% -75.77%. Methanol extract most potent it extracted maximum contents. Glycation amylase inhibition percentages 15.31 34.28 19.83-36.32 among tested samples spinach. Whereas, 12.67-43.77% 17.3% 28.04% blocking glucosidase acetylcholinesterase activities observed. HPLC analysis identified various flavonoids phenolics acids quercetin, gallic acid, caffeic sinopic cinnamic acid. FTIR showed that S. contains several phenols, amines, alkaloids, alcohols fluoro in methanolic leaves extract. This research indicated has wide potential be further investigated future can prove a wonderful natural drug healthcare systems upcoming

Structural characterization of Spinacia oleracea trypsin inhibitor III (SOTI-III).
In recent decades, several canonical serine protease inhibitor families have been classified and characterized. In contrast to most trypsin inhibitors, those from garden four o'clock (Mirabilis jalapa) and spinach (Spinacia oleracea) do not share sequence similarity and have been proposed to form the new Mirabilis serine protease inhibitor family. These 30-40-amino-acid inhibitors possess a def...

Smnmary. Washed whole chloroplasts of Spinacia oleracea isolated and assayed in a tris (hydroxymethyl aminomethane)-HCl bu'ifered sucrose solution exhibited low dark CO.2 fixing activity, whereas washed whole chloroplasts isolated in the same buffer but assayed in that ibuffer without sucrose exh;ibited much greater dark CO2 'fixing activity. The lowered activity could be attributed to the impe...
متن کاملMicrospectrofluorometric Measurement of Chloroplast DNA in Dividing and Expanding Leaf Cells of Spinacia oleracea.
Absolute DNA amounts of individual chloroplasts from mesophyll and epidermal cells of developing spinach leaves were measured by microspectrofluorometry using the DNA-specific stain, 4,6-diamidino-2-phenyl indole, and the bacterium, Pediococcus damnosus, as an internal standard. Values obtained by this method showed that DNA amounts of individual chloroplasts from mesophyll cells fell within a ...
متن کاملSex Chromosome Translocations in Spinacia Oleracea.
HROMOSOME 1 of Spinacia oleracea, the longest of the complement, con'tains the "alleles" X , X", and Y , that effect sex determination (ELLIS and JANICK 1960; SUTO and SUGIYAMA 1961; IIZUKA and JANICK 1962). The genotype X X is pistillate, X"X and X"X" are potentially monoecious (although X"Xm is more highly male), and X Y and X"Y are staminate. The standard chromosome 1 is heterobrachial with ...
متن کاملAcetate Concentration and Chloroplast Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex in Spinacia oleracea Leaf Cells
Acetate concentration in spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) leaf tissue has been determined by direct measurement in a leaf extract to oe 70 |xm or less. Additional evidence for such low acetate levels came from isotope dilution experiments where the [ l 14C]acetate incorporation into fatty acids was assayed using purified chloroplasts in the presence o f tissue extracts. Pyruvate dehydrogenase com...
