Antimicrobial Metabolites from Ectomycorrhizal Fungus, Pisolithus tinctorius (Pers.) Coker against Soil Borne Plant Pathogens

Pisolithus tinctorius (Pers.) Coker is an ectomycorrhizal fungus that forms abundant wealth of biomass in the forest ecosystem, with untapped treasure bioactive compounds and secondary metabolites having multifaceted use health agrochemical industries. The hidden potential this tapped current study by using MTP1 isolate P. tinctorius. were extracted tested for their inhibitory efficacy against major soil-borne plant pathogens viz., Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici (Sacc.) Synder Hansen; Macrophomina phaseolina (Goid); Rhizoctonia solani (Kuhn) Sclerotium rolfsii (Sacc). cell-free culture (CFC) filtrate P.tinctorius showed maximum mycelial inhibition F. o. (52.00 %); R. (51.92%) M. (48.23%). However, CFC mixture did not inhibit growth S. rolfsii. GC-MS analysis biomolecules composite ethyl acetate fraction indicated presence belonging to nature fatty acids, aromatic alcohol, flavonoids. reduction test increase concentration several unknown warrants further purified form antifungal reducing root rots wilts incited phytopathogens.
