Antimicrobial Efficacy of a Novel Automated Irrigation Device As Compared to Conventional Needle Irrigation Against Enterococcus faecalis: An In Vitro Study

چکیده
Aim The present study aims to compare the antibacterial efficacy of a novel automated endodontic irrigation device with that manual technique. Materials and methods considered 45 extracted single-rooted teeth. After sectioning teeth, specimens were inoculated Enterococcus faecalis (E. faecalis) bacteria for three weeks. Instrumentation was done using ProTaper Gold rotary files size 50 5% taper. Based on protocol, experimental samples divided into Group I: control (normal saline irrigation) (n = 15); II: conventional needle III: 15). in III device. irrigation, pre-weighted dentinal shaving collected Eppendorf tubes, diluted 10 times, incubated Petri dish tryptone soy agar (TSA) 48 hours. Finally, colony-forming unit (CFU) counts assessed. IBM SPSS Statistics Windows version 23.0 (Armonk, NY, USA, Corp.) used data analysis. Intergroup comparisons made non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test. Results mean CFU count (CFU/ml) groups was: 1 irrigation): 3.67x101; 2 (manual 2.69× 101; 3 (automated 1.57× 101. A statistically significant reduction E. seen among assessed (p<0.01). group exhibited most substantial count. showed difference compared (p<0.05). Conclusions superior reducing counts. This indicates has potential enhance bacterial elimination during treatment.

Methods Forty-one extracted single-rooted teeth were included in the present study. After content removal and autoclaving, they were divided into eight groups among which two were used as positive and negative controls. The remaining six groups were instrumented and irrigated with solutions containing 17% EDTA, sterile saline solution, and different concentrations of NaOCl. In addition, chlorhe...

AIM To evaluate the relative antimicrobial efficacy of five different commonly used antimicrobial agents with regard to reduction in the number of Enterococcus faecalis and Escherichia coli as compared to normal saline. An agar disk diffusion in vitro method was used to test the efficacy of the root canal irrigants against these two microorganisms. The root canal irrigants used were: 5.25% sodi...

متن کاملantimicrobial activity of nanoparticle calcium hydroxide against enterococcus faecalis: an in vitro study
introduction: enterococcus faecalis ( e. faecalis ) has the ability to invade the dentinal tubules and resist high ph levels. as a result, calcium hydroxide (ch) is not much effective on this bacterium. in theory, nanoparticle calcium hydroxide (nch) has smaller size and high surface area that enables it to penetrate into the deeper layers of dentin and be more effective on e. faecalis. this in...
