Anticonvulsant for preeclampsia: Magnesium sulfate or Diazepam ?

Preeclampsia is a multisystem disorder which still the leading cause of maternal death today. The occurrence seizures in preeclampsia (eclampsia) increases risk and perinatal morbidity mortality. Therefore, seizure should be prevented managed accurateely.The standard therapy for managing severe preeclampsia/eclampsia use an anticonvulsant that aimed to prevent/stop seizures, prevent recurrence attacks, minimize manage their complications, optimize time birth baby. On other hand, selection anticonvulsants needed controversial, so debates studies on effectiveness between each are necessary.Comparative research magnesium sulfate diazepam widely carried out, both retrospective prospective. Magnesium more effective than diazepam, especially terms overcoming suppressing mortality morbidity, choice over realistic.
