Anticholinesterase, Antidiabetic and Antioxidant Activities of Chloroform Extract of Genista carinalis

Alzheimer's disease, diabetes has become an increasing public health issues in recent years. On the other hand, synthetic drugs are expensive, could be inadequate to treat diseases, cause irritation, and side effects. Therefore, increasingly more researchis being done plant-derived formulas, bioactive ingredients, which can alternative for treatments solve basic problems. In this study antioxidant, anticholinesterase antidiabetic activities of G. carinalis chloroform extract were determined. Based on results, was not observed inhibitory α-glucosidase α-amylase. It showed better activity acetylcholiesterase than butylrylcholinesterase activity. The antioxidant potential determined with different assays. TEAC value 0.484 mmol TE/g, FRAP found 1023.20 µmol Fe2+/g extract. EC50 DPPH assays 0.101 μg/ml.
