Antibiotic Resistance and Virulence Gene Patterns Associated with Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) from Broiler Chickens in Qatar

چکیده
Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) is the contributing agent behind avian infectious disease colibacillosis, which causes substantial fatalities in poultry industries that has a significant impact on economy and food safety. Several virulence genes have been shown to be concomitant with extraintestinal survival of APEC. This study investigates antibiotic resistance patterns APEC-associated content isolated from non-healthy healthy broiler chickens commercial farm Qatar. A total 158 E. strains were 47 five different organs (air sac, cloacal, kidney, liver, trachea). Based genetic criteria, 65% APEC containing or more genes, 34% non-pathogenic (NPEC) strains. The ompT, hlyF, iroN, tsh, vat, iss, cvi/cva, iucD significantly prevalent all isolates showed 96% at least one 18 antibiotics, high ampicillin, cephalothin, ciprofloxacin, tetracycline, fosfomycin. Our findings indicate prevalence chicken carcasses. Such resistant can spread humans. Hence, special programs are required monitor use antibiotics production

Antibiotic resistance pattern and virulence genes content in avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) from broiler chickens in Chitwan, Nepal
BACKGROUND Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) are causative agent of extraintestinal infections, collectively known as colibacillosis, which results significant losses in poultry industries. The extraintestinal survival of E. coli is facilitated by numerous virulence factors which are coded by virulence genes. This study was conducted to find out the pattern of antibiotic resistance and v...
متن کاملAvian Pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) in Palestine: Characterization of Virulence Factors and Antibiotic Resistance Profile
Escherichia coli bacterium is common to many environments and there are over 150 different strains. Avian pathogenic E. coli (APEC) strains cause diseases in birds at various ages. The introduction of such strains to chicken respiratory tract causes invasive infections, collectively known as colibacillosis. It can cause extensive mortality in poultry flocks leading to great economic losses. Rec...

متن کاملIn vitro assessment of pathogenicity and virulence encoding gene profiles of avian pathogenic Escherichia coli strains associated with colibacillosis in chickens
Background: Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC) strains have been associated with various disease conditions in avian species due to virulence attributes associated with the organism. Aims: This study was carried out to determine the in vitro pathogenic characteristics and virulence encoding genes found in E. coli strains associated with colibacillosis in chickens. Methods: Fifty-two stock...

Background: Diarrheagenic Escherichia coli (DEC) strains are predominant cause of gastrointestinal tract illnesses. The main objective of the study was to determine antibiotic resistance in various types of DEC isolated from chicken broilers farmed in Pakistan. Methods: A total of 200 feces and 200 meat samples from broiler chickens were collected from the slaughtering shops in Southern Punjab...
