چکیده

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy Potassium Titanium Phosphate (KTP) laser-activated irrigation solutions on intraradicular Enterococcus faecalis biofilms in invitro conditions by using a scanning electron microscope.
Materials and Methods: 120 single-root, single canal permanent mandibular premolar human teeth were used. Sterilization disinfection performed. E. obtained after 4 weeks re-inoculation procedures. Each group divided into 6 groups consisting 20 roots root protocols applied with 5.25% NaOCl, saline, super-oxidized water solution, 8ppm ozonated water, 2% CHX, 17% EDTA, all activated KTP laser. It smear-planted solid medium which split as before applications for Counting Microorganism colonies from canals data evaluated statistically. In statistical evaluation one way ANOVA Tukey tests Before procedures presence elimination biofilm processed microscopy examined standard images.
Results: As result comparison performed among groups, while NaOCl ensures highest amount positive control group, lowest bacterial detected SF that negative (P0,05), EDTA showed antibiofilm effect (P

Effect of three different irrigation solutions applied by passive ultrasonic irrigation

OBJECTIVES This study evaluated the maximum depth and percentage of irrigant penetration into dentinal tubules by passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI). MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty extracted human teeth were instrumented and divided into three groups. According to final irrigation regimen, 5.25% sodium hypochlorite (Group A, NaOCl), 2% chlorhexidine (Group B, CHX) and saline solution (Group C,...

Different pharmacological solutions in intracanal irrigation.

Irrigation of root canals during endodontic therapy is an important step. Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), chlorhexidine (CHX) and normal saline are commonly used intracanal irrigants to disinfect and clean the root canals. This prospective study was set to observe the efficacy of normal saline (0.9% NaCl) irrigation with sequential irrigation of 3% H2O2, 5.2% NaOCl and 0....

Effect of Different Irrigation Solutions on the Colour Stability of Three Calcium Silicate-Based Materials

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Previous studies have shown discoloration of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) in contact with root canal irrigation solutions. However, there are limited data on colour stability of other calcium silicate-based materials (CSMs). OBJECTIVES This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the colour stability of three CSMs in contact with different irrigation solutions. MATERIALS A...
