Antibacterial and Anti-Quorum Sensing Studies of Extracellularly Synthesized Silver Nanoparticles from Azadirachta indica (Neem) Leaf Extract

Azadirachta indica (Neem ) is an important medicinal plant with proven strong antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties. The study here presents the QS (Quorum Sensing) inhibitory potential of biogenic Silver nanopaticles (AgNPs) from leaf extracts. nanoparticles were synthesized using aqueous extract leaves silver nitrate solution. size, crystal structure, elemental composition other physical properties determined different microscopic spectroscopic techniques. average diameter was found to be between 20-43 nm crystalline morphology. These extracellularly AgNPs strongly inhibited Gram negative pathogenic species exhibited demonstrable anti- Quorum Sensing (QS) activity as evident pigment inhibition 75- 80% decrease in biofilm mass on treatment a dose dependent manner.
