چکیده
In the current study, some plants were selected to screen their potential antibacterial activity. For evaluating activity, both aqueous and organic solvents) methanol acetone (were used. The tested Cymbopogon schoenanthus, Cotula cinerea, Francoeuria crispa. Agar well diffusion method was used test activity against two Gram negative (Brucella spp., Proteus spp.) three positive (Staphylococcus albus, Streptococcus Bacillus subtilis) bacterial species. All extracts effective agents, being capable of inhibiting growth each examined bacteria. Based on findings this methanol, leaves C. cinerea F. crispa showed various efficiency towards Among plant extracts, strongest shown by extract spp, with inhibition zone 27±1mm, subtilis 26.27±4mm, followed Brucella spp. 24±1 mm, 22±1mm respectively. exhibited greatest evaluated bacteria, schoenanthus cinerea. comparison, pronounced inhibitory gram These demonstrate that certain may have properties. This study suggests possibility applying as natural sources provide clues clarify candidates for future development new chemotherapeutic drugs treatment infectious diseases.

Antibacterial Activity of Zataria multiflora Boiss Essential Oil against Some Fish Spoilage Bacteria
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate antimicrobial effect of Zataria multiflora Boiss essential oil (EO) against six fish spoilage bacteria for evaluation of its potential utilization in the preservation of minimally processed fish products. Methods: Firstly, GC-MS analysis of the EO was performed to determine its chemical composition. Then, antibacterial effect of the EO in a ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Antibacterial Activity of Some Traditionally Used Medicinal Plants against Human Pathogenic Bacteria
The worldwide increase of multidrug resistance in both community- and health-care associated bacterial infections has impaired the current antimicrobial therapy, warranting the search for other alternatives. We aimed to find the in vitro antibacterial activity of ethanolic extracts of 16 different traditionally used medicinal plants of Nepal against 13 clinical and 2 reference bacterial species...
