Abstract Load swaying is one of the most frequently occurring problems at production sites. The purpose this work to create a control system for movement an overhead crane with anti-sway function. Particle Swarm Optimization method has been used find controller coefficients. function should be implemented using PLC (programmable logic controller) and have high speed operation. frequency converter controls drive that moves crane. main advantage its simplicity low cost combined load. oscillation amplitude angular regulator two three times less in comparison without regulator. presence minimizes impact load weight rope length. efficiency simulator program calculating tested confirmed. Verification created mathematical model experimental installation made. Article Highlights An efficient low-cost cranes developed. was experimentally, dependencies influence factors on sway angle were obtained. selection coefficients particle swarm optimization coded C++, which provides high-speed performance ability integrate algorithm into system.
