Beans functions of graphs with small beans
The beans function BG(x) of a connected graph G is defined as the maximum number of points on G such that any pair of points have distance at least x > 0. We shall exhibit lower and upper bounds of BG(x) for x < 1 and a class of graphs which have the same number of edges and whose beans functions distinguish them. Also, we give some non-isomorphic graphs which have the same beans function.

متن کاملLeuco-anthocyanins. 2. Systematic distribution of leuco-anthocyanins in leaves.
In Part 1 (preceding paper) a method of demonstrating the presence of leuco-anthocyanins in plant tissues has been described. A modified version of this method, in which paper chromatographic separation of the anthocyanidins is not carried out, has been applied to the leaves of several hundred species of plants. As a confirmatory test, in the great majority of instances the vanillin reaction ha...
متن کاملEffect of germination and autoclaving of sprouted finger millet and kidney beans on cyanide content.
Cyanide contents of locally purchased brown finger millet (Eleusine corocana L. Gaertner) and brown speckled kidney bean seeds (Phaseolus vulgaries var. Rose Coco) were determined using raw, germinated and autoclaved samples. The aim was to establish the extent of cyanide content increase resulting from the germination process and the effectiveness of the autoclaving process on the reduction of...
متن کاملStructure-function relationships of purple acid phosphatase from red kidney beans based on heterologously expressed mutants.
Purple acid phosphatases are binuclear metalloenzymes, which catalyze the conversion of orthophosphoric monoesters to alcohol and orthophosphate. The enzyme from red kidney beans is characterized with a Fe(III)-Zn(II) active center. So far, the reaction mechanisms postulated for PAPs assume the essentiality of two amino acids, residing near the bimetallic active site. Based on the amino acid se...
