Anthocyanin Content and Antioxidant Activity of Red Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.) at Different Flower Ages

نویسندگان

چکیده

Chrysanthemum sp. is a floricultural plant of the Asteraceae family with high economic value. The anthocyanin pigment in red chrysanthemum acts as an antioxidant, content which can be influenced by genetic factors such physiological age flower. This study aimed to determine effect flower on and antioxidant activity plants. used was 115 Days After Planting (DAP) (early bloom stage), 120 DAP (half-bloom 125 (blooming 134 (wilted flower). analysed using spectrophotometric methods. Antioxidant determined DPPH method then absorbance measured UV-Vis spectrophotometer. results showed that highest obtained at 3.56 mg/g, followed 2.40 1.95 mg/g lowest 1, 69 mg/g. shown flowers aged had IC50 value 288.85 g/ml. research shows wilted still contain anthocyanins so it various industrial fields tea additives for soap.

Identification of the phenolic components of chrysanthemum flower (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat)

A standardised profiling method based on liquid chromatography with diode array and electrospray ionisation/mass spectrometry (LC–DAD–ESI/MS) was used to identify 46 flavonoids and 17 caffeic acid derivatives in the aqueous methanol extract of Flos chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat) (Compositae), an important Chinese herb. Fifteen caffeoylquinic acids and 15 flavonoids were positive...

Anthocyanin and Carotenoid Contents in Different Cultivars of Chrysanthemum (Dendranthema grandiflorum Ramat.) Flower.

The flowers of twenty-three cultivars of Dendranthema grandiflorum Ramat. were investigated to determine anthocyanin and carotenoid levels and to confirm the effects of the pigments on the flower colors using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The cultivars contained the anthocyanins cyanidin 3-glucoside (C3g) and cyanidin 3-(3"...

A Novel bHLH Transcription Factor Involved in Regulating Anthocyanin Biosynthesis in Chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.)

Chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.) exhibit a variety of flower colors due to their differing abilities to accumulate anthocyanins. One MYB member, CmMYB6, has been verified as a transcription regulator of chrysanthemum genes involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis; however, the co-regulators for CmMYB6 remain unclear in chrysanthemum. Here, the expression pattern of CmbHLH2, which is...

Efficient In Vitro Regeneration of Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.) Through Nodal Explant Culture

An efficient in vitro plant regeneration protocol was developed for Chrysanthemum morifolium, an ornamental plant. Nodal segments were used as explants in the present experiment. The explants were cultured onto Murashige & Skoog’s (MS) nutrient medium containing plant growth regulators (cytokinins or auxins) with various combinations and concentrations for the study. Maximum percentage (93.33%)...

Identification of Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) Self-Incompatibility

There has been a heated argument over self-incompatibilityof chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) among chrysanthemum breeders. In order to solve the argument, we investigated pistil receptivity, seed set, and compatible index of 24 chrysanthemum cultivars. It was found that the 24 cultivars averagely had 3.7-36.3 pollen grains germinating on stigmas at 24 hours after self-pollination throu...
